Miraculous election swing in Party Party’s direction

WHESTCOREAN ELECTORAL COMMISSION HEADQUARTERS – A miraculous turn of events has led to Horatio Eden’s party – slated to be annihilated at election, to win less than 25% of the votes – riding high at 67%, with ten votes out of fifteen. While Mememaster-General Eden has stated in an address to the Senate that he feels “not comfortable with calling it even though it seems like we’re going to win, there’s still five votes to tally and that could fundamentally change the Congress’ makeup,” it is clear that the Party Party has significantly turned around its fortunes.

The Party Party first appeared to be in collapse following the State of the Union, when Mr. Eden made numerous allusions to his falling poll numbers. After this, a public poll confirmed his fears, at which point his Party went from collapse to a slide towards destruction, the Eden Congress desperately trying to pass legislation, failing to get through his Fifth Amendment and the Congress coming close to revoking a good number of Executive Orders, including on the Democratic Republic of Belia.

However, in a sudden twist, it seems that Eden has miraculously turned things around. How this has happened remains unclear, but suffice it to say we may be seeing yet another Eden leadership in the next session of the government.

Whestcorean Federal Crimes Act on the floor

RGS, D.B.: A new piece of legislation was sent to the floor of the Congress for deliberation earlier today in the first sign of life within the Whestcorean government in a while.

The Federal Crimes Act (2016) is a wide-reaching Act reforming the Whestcorean justice system, finally creating a long overdue system of defining crimes. The system is exceedingly simple, though it is expected that the Act will be amended over time to account for new developments.

The Act stratifies crime into five categories, Levels I through V, with I being the most severe, according to TITLE I of the Act.

Horatio Eden, the framer of the Act, may be attempting to push through as much legislation as he can before a potentially disastrous general election later this month. There has also been talk of a potential challenge within his own party that may finally dethrone him as leader after almost six months of his premiership.

Mememaster-General gives State of the Union, announces snap election

RGS, D.B.: Mememaster-General Horatio Eden delivered his State of the Union earlier today, discussing the government’s plans for the economy and foreign policy.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about results,” Eden remarked, “and frankly we haven’t really had any so far.” He then realised this would be a disaster for his poll ratings, and said “I mean, it’s Congress’ fault, uh…” before mumbling something indeterminable and moving swiftly along.

“Our foreign policy has been a success as of late, with a number of new micronations now recognizing us. The… indiscretion on the part of the Democratic Republic of Belia is most assuredly in the past, with the question of the United Micronations rendered mostly irrelevant by the UM’s lack of activity, and that’s not really a good thing too, is it?” He then turned to one of his advisers, who motioned to a graph on a smartphone detailing his poll numbers, at which the Mememaster-General looked shocked and attempted to un-derail his speech.

“In light of the fact I’m simply too lazy to wait a month, I will be organising a snap election for later in January,” he remarked. This came as a surprise to his advisers, who gestured wildly with their hands shaking their heads. “Hopefully the populace will see that we, the Party Party of Whestcorea, are the only choice in this election, because we basically literally are the only choice in this election.”

The snap election has not been given a date, but will be held later this month if the speech is to be believed.
